We recently attended RFID Journal LIVE! 2014 in Orlando, Florida. While at the show, we interviewed leaders, systems manufacturers, and solutions providers in the RFID industry. In this interview, we spoke with Antony Dixon, CEO at Times-7.
Antony took us through the booth and showed us the new products this year from Times-7 including brand new mounting options, antenna colors, and cables.
The A1030, a brand new, large near-field antenna was the first item we saw at the booth this year. With one square foot of smooth surface area, this antenna is perfect for use as a shelf inventory tracking applications. The next shelf antenna we see is the A7030C, which is perfect for the retail environment. It is a circularly polarized antenna with 6dBi and can be connected to additional A7030C’s via rubber feet.
With new color options for their antennas along with new mounting plates, you can see that Times-7 has been working hard in the past year! These new mounting adapters are great because they allow the antennas to be used with industry standard mounting brackets. The plates screw into the four holes around the edges and have four screws in the middle to use with any off the shelf mounting system.
Due to growing customer demand, a range of four IP 67 rated antennas are among the newest products at Times-7. They vary in dBi rating and size, but they are all heavy duty, rugged antennas. These four antennas are targeted toward industrial applications like waste management, tolling, forklift environments, or warehouse management. This range of IP 67 rated, circular antennas will be released later this year!
The A8060 door-frame antenna and the A6034S table top antenna are the next products we see on our tour of the Times-7 booth. The A8060 has been around for a while, but it is a popular door-frame antenna and can even be used with additional antennas to create your own portal system. With a 5dBi rating, this linear antenna is available in both FCC and ETSI frequencies and is a high performing, low cost antenna.
The A6034S panel antenna, like Antony said, is being used frequently in laundry tracking applications. It is part of the SlimLine range of ultra-low profile, circularly polarized antennas. With an impressive read range of up to 29 feet, this antenna has an IP rating of 65 and is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
The A6590C, a 9dBi circularly polarized ground antenna, is low profile and works well in a portal system or as a stand-alone antenna. As an added option, the A6590C can include an aluminum ramp for applications where you would like a less intrusive ground antenna like in retail applications.
