We visited our friends at the Times-7 booth and spoke with CEO Antony Dixon. Times-7 was founded in 2006 and specializes in RFID antennas. On the RFID Journal LIVE! show floor, Times-7 had several of their most popular antennas on display.
First, Antony showed us the A6031 Circular Polarized RFID Antenna which features a slim, low-profile design. Next, we see the A7060 Shelf Antenna, a linear polarized RFID antenna ideal for retail and jewelry stores where you need to track numerous items. We then take a look at the A1001 Proximity RFID Antenna, a circular polarized antenna that is perfect for reading tags in a near field. The short read range allows more control in RFID deployments; for example, the proximity antennas are frequently used in access control applications and retail POS.
Also, Times-7 brought two ground antennas to the show. The first is the A5530 Outdoor Ground RFID Antenna; the ground antenna is encased in a blue mat making it ideal for race timing systems where racers will cross over the mat. Also, it houses a cable management system so that users can safely hide cables.
The second ground antenna, the A5531-E Ground Antenna, is designed to be embedded into the floor. Since this antenna was created with industrial applications in mind, it is rated to withstand great pressure from heavy equipment, such as forklifts.
Last, we see the A8060, a linear polarized door frame antenna. In Antony’s display, he has the antennas set up in a left, right, and upright position creating a portal.
