At the Fujitsu booth, we caught up with Dan Dalton, Director of New Products Development. He talked to us about Fujitsu and some of the upcoming products they will be debuting in North America in the near future.
Up until a few years ago, Fujitsu’s RFID efforts were largely focused in Japan, but they shifted to a global strategy when they launched their popular WT-A522 UHF RFID Laundry Tag in North America.
Fujitsu recently debuted the third-generation model of the in-demand laundry RFID tag. The slim laundry tag may be embedded directly into linens, uniforms, towels, and other fabrics. Also, you can heat-seal the tags onto textiles, which is ideal for bedsheets and other linens. Fujitsu offers the tag pre-inserted into a pouch style fabric label for ease of sewing.
Dan showed some of the other RFID tags Fujitsu brought to RFID Journal LIVE! 2013. On their display showcase, we looked at their retail RFID labels featuring Fujitsu’s own antenna design. Next, we saw their RFID document labels which offer a great read range at only 1 mm separation between the document and label. You can read hundreds of documents very easily with this tag. Lastly, Dan showed us the UHF RFID Label for discs, another tag ideal for individual CD or DVD tagging.
